Philipp Lahm was born on 11 November 1983 in Munich and plays as a defender for Bayern Munich and the German national team. Strong on the ball, clean tackles and also good at attacking on the wings Philipp Lahm has successfully established himself as being one of the best left-back in the world. He is also the captain of the national team since the injury of Michael Ballack.
Trivia:
Philipp Lahm visited a local SOS Children’s Village and took part in the Kick-AIDS event in South Africa prior to the 2010 World Cup.
He has established a foundation, Philipp Lahm-Stiftung, to support underprivileged children.
Philipp Lahm married Claudia Schattenberg in July 2010.
He was also elected to the 2006 Mastercard All Star Team after his performance in the 2006 World Cup.
Lahm was nominated for the FIFA World Player of the Year 2006.
